Meet Troy Garling

Troy Garling (he/him) is our Community Manager.

Rural Darwin born, Troy was raised surrounded by a variety of cultural influences. His blood line is from North Queensland Cairns, Yarrabah, Gunggandji people, and only recently, from The Mornington Peninsula, of the Boon Wurrung / Bunurong people, on his mother's side.

Troy's working life has mostly been within the mining industry, which sparked his passion to ensure cultural safety is embedded within all workplaces. His goal is to support Indigenous people who want to create change for their communities.

A father of two, but a mentor for many. Troy loves all sports and is what we call a “computer whiz”. His family extends beyond the fences of his home, Darwin and is a mosaic artwork of small communities, which is admired by those looking from afar.

“I am excited to be part of an organisation that is taking a different approach to support Indigenous entrepreneurs within their own community, helping them create a growth mindset and positive change for all. I look forward to meeting, connecting and deeply listening to all of the members of our community, and being able to help share their message with the world. I would love to see a world where the wider Australian community views Indigenous people as positive role models and leaders.”
